Congratulations to our very own Duncan Malcolm, Director of 2D at Glassworks in London who has just won the 2019 Flame Award!

Duncan has been working in production and post for 33 years, the past 20 on Autodesk Flame as his main tool of choice. Duncan works closely with Glassworks’ CG artists to seamlessly blend CG photoreal assets and real world environments for high end commercial clients. Alongside his work in commericals, Duncan has worked closely with the creators of the television series “Black Mirror” on look development and compositing for the award-winning Netflix series, including the critically acclaimed Bandersnatch interactive episode.

"I am completely overwhelmed to be awarded the Flame award this year, to be picked out of such a strong collection of artists from around the world is 'off the scale' amazing! I happily accept this award with a generous portion of it going to everyone I’ve worked with at Glassworks and also to the clients who trust us with their projects.

Flame has been my main tool for look development and compositing for over 20 years now. I find comfort in its strength and reliability that allows me to quickly knock an idea into shape and yet still have the creative head room to precisely craft those first thoughts into a final sequence that I’m proud of."

Thank you to Autodesk and everyone who voted!
