Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam’s Booking.com work has been right up our alley humour wise. So, it’s been a privilege to be involved with the last two campaigns, the latest in our recent collaborations with the W+K team.

This campaign, directed by MJZ’s Dante Ariola, is the story of one booking hero and how holiday accommodation makes or breaks his holidays, and life.

It is a film laced with humour, parody and hyperbole. But, it is the foundation of subtle filmmaking and expert craftsmanship that gives it its licence to have fun.

From the off, W+K, MJZ and Glassworks worked closely to ensure this was the case. From a chance encounter in a hostel to a romantic proposal in a chateau, a gate crashing parrot at an eco lodge to bonding with an adrenalin-pumped father-in-law at a castle resort, it takes us through events in our hero’s life.

“Each setup up presented its own set of challenges”, said Morten Vinther, our 2D lead. “Bringing these multiple worlds together into one flowing narrative was key. From the colour grading to adding snow effects in the mountains to billboards in Japan, it’s been a real team effort”.
